Hello all :)

It's my first time posting so please excuse me if this is not right section. My question is as follows:

I have done 1 three years bachelor degree from Indian recognized university and afterwards 1 one year Post Graduate Certificate from London recognized University in UK. My ECA report says the following for each. Both courses were Part time as per Canadian "number of hours" standard.

Bachelor's
length of program: 3 years
Canadian equivalency: Bachelor's degree (three years)

PGC
length of program: One half year
Canadian equivalency: post graduate diploma (one semester)

First of all I don't understand what length of program means here. Is it the actual length as provided by university/done by student or is it length in Canadian equivalency? Because clearly my PGC was not six months long. Secondly, with this result am I eligible for "two or more courses" or simply bachelor degree only? Any ideas why it might have been ranked as six months only even though UK follows quite similar education standards as other International universities?

Any helpful information or ideas on this matter will be greatly appreciated. I am handling my own application process and don't have consultant, so I am a bit lost at the moment how to proceed with this result.

Thanks!

Your PGC must have been 1 year but equivalent to 1/2 a year in Canada. In the form, you can mention any course that was 1 year or more. Therefore, I dont think you can claim points for your PGC as it was 1/2 a year.

As an example, my wife and I did bachelors degrees in India and masters in the UK. We got equivalent of masters. My masters was 2 years and my wife's 1 year.

Hi Paruk

Any update on what you did next.. I am stuck with a similar problem where the eca shows bachelor 4 years and post graduate diploma one semester. I am confused If I go for two or more certificate s

Now, while filling up the profile you don't get an option of selecting "two or more years degree or diploma". It is only available on CRS tool. In profile you need to select equivalency for each degree separately. Select it accordingly and complete the profile.

Good luck.

Yes true..do you have any idea if I can record post graduate diploma (one semester) under one year certificate or degree while adding seperately to get points

As WES mentioned very clearly that it is only onehalf year, you can not.

As there is no score for one semester in CRS, you can't select two or more degree. Bummer but that's the way it is. I selected one degree and got ITA based on my bachelor's alone. In my profile, I declared my PGC course, and for the question as to how much canadian equivalent it is, I chose none.

i get my ECA done from WES but there's one problem i.e. i did masters in english from delhi university but WES gave it equivalency to bachelor degree of four years. This is making CRS score less by 7 points. Now what to do?
Should i challenge this report?
