Help understand Lawyer contract for LMIA

HI Guys,
A quick question, Lots of people from this group has worked with lawyers right ?

I am thinking about applying LMIA with a lawyer, As per her contract, I have to pay $1000 in advance and rest $3000 after getting my LMIA, Now my question is, If I pay $1000 advance and she will apply for LMIA, In mean time I get my CSQ, Can I cancel the contract so that I can save remaining $3000 ?

Are you an employer? Only an employer can apply for a LMIA, not an employee.

Also, the employer should not attempt to recover their costs from the employee. (corrected typo)

I still am not sure why you are employing a lawyer at all to obtain an LMIA.. However, you would have to ask your lawyer that question as we have no idea what is in the small print of your contract with her. Is there a cancellation clause?

Actually My employer is ready to help me get my LMIA, so told me to hira a lawyer and proceed with him, he will provide all the required documents to lawyer,

I am waiting for CSQ since 13 months, Hence If I get my CSQ while my LMIA is still processing I can save remaining $3000,

Yes I agreed, I think now I will have to clarify that with my lawyer itself.

How is the lawyer able to get you the LMIA? We just found out that we do not have LMIA on our latest work permit and this may effect our application for PR in a bad way.

The employer is the one who has to obtain the approved LMIA. A lawyer can certainly help the employer to get this done - but the employer has to be willing to go through the process including the advertising requirements, etc.
