Dear all,
Need help in answering the following Express Entry Profile Questions --

Query 1>> Do we need to fill in the high school and higher secondary education details ( for applicant and for applicant's spouse) or education details after higher secondary is only required to be filled.

Query 2>> My wife has done 4 years Architecture Degree and 2 years of MBA after higher secondary education. I don't have the ECA evaluation of any and we are sure neither we will be able to get, as it would be really very very difficult to get the degree attestation done, and I am ok to loose points (if I get any) because of Spouse education. The confusion is -- what should I enter when the online application asks the following question for spouse --

Has xxxxx(my wife) finished high school or any higher education (including university, college or vocational training)?

If I say "yes"-- I know later when I get invitation to apply I will not have the ECA (and CIC would have invited me considering the spouse education points)
If I say "No" -- I am not stating the truth? Will this not amount to mis representation of information
Need Immigration advise what to do ?

Query 3>> My wife has work history and is currently working. Again I know we cannot have the work experience letters from my wife's employer and again I am ok to loose points for Spouse work experience.
The confusion is -- what should I enter when the online application asks the following --

Does xxxx(my wife) have any work history?
If I say "yes"-- I know later when I get invitation to apply I will not have the work experience letter (and CIC would have invited me considering the spouse work experience)
If I say "No" -- I am not stating the truth? Will this not amount to mis representation of information
Need Immigration advise what to do ?

Query 4>>
Does VIKAS have a relative in Canada who is 18 years of age or older and is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident living in Canada?

I have Uncle and cousin in Canada. What should I answer for this question, If I am not sure they will co operate with me by providing necessary documents such as their passport copies/residence proof etc..

Look forward for your support and guidance.

Regards

Hi,

Did you get any advise for your query #2 ? I am still confused whether to put it as "Yes" or "No" ?

Regards.

You put yes then it automatically brings up another question asking if an ECA has been done for that degree then you put no. You won't get any points for the degree as no ECA has been done.

Hi vaderavikas,

if your spouse's work experience is not in Canada then you won't have additional points for it. If it's in Canada then I think you should answer No so you won't get points and then explain your situation in letter of explanation later. But if you read the forum there are ways to prove work experience using letters from colleagues etc.

I dont understand how spouse's work experience outside of Canada is relevant to PA's application...If you are not claiming points for it, you don't have to enter it. Same with education.

In EE profile, you declare info that gives you points, after you receive ITA, thats when you declare all personal history.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong. Asivad?

I second that. Absolutely right.

Could you kindly let me know if my understanding is right:

under the Study and Languages -> Education History for spouse we can mention NO for "Has xyz finished high school or any higher education" so that its not considered for calculating points (no eca anyways).
However, we can mention that she was studying (& completed her higher education) during the last 10 years under the personal history.

Very much appreciate your help.

Thanks & Regards.

Yes. And if you feel like explaining this, do it via an LOE where you clearly highlight that you haven't claimed any points for spouse education.

You can even choose to input 'Unemployed' in personal history section if your spouse did not travel overseas from her country of residence at that point in time because then it is simply an information item with zero relevance to your PR application. It would've mattered if they were educated in another country because then you would need a PCC for that period. I recommend you stick with 'Education' though. The system wouldn't prompt you for any documents anyway.

Hope this clarifies. All the best!

Thank you Asivad !

Few more questions:

1. Do I need to include transcripts (each semester) with my education, or just the degree certificate from the university and the ECA would do ?

2. I have my experience split like India-Canada-India-Canada-India : Can I upload a copy of the same experience letter for my India experience if my role is the same ?

3. Also, I've got promoted in India when I was in Canada, however my role remained the same till my repatriation to India. However NOC changes from 2174 to 2171 and the experience letter given by my company reflects NOC 2171. Do I have to split that up in the experience history ? I have compensation letter (internal document) that I got promoted. Would that work as a proof ?

4. Can we upload work permit support letters as a proof ?

5. And a stupid question, would images from DSLR converted into PDF work instead of actual scan of the documents ?

Thanks a ton for your help Asivad Anac.

I imagine CIC asks for just the ECA and certificate(s).

2. I have my experience split like India-Canada-India-Canada-India : Can I upload a copy of the same experience letter for my India experience if my role is the same ?

Yes. Provided the letter covers the entire tenure of experience and the NOC remained unchanged or the revised roles & responsibilities were adequately explained in the letter even if the NOC changed. Explain this using an LOE as well.

3. Also, I've got promoted in India when I was in Canada, however my role remained the same till my repatriation to India. However NOC changes from 2174 to 2171 and the experience letter given by my company reflects NOC 2171. Do I have to split that up in the experience history ? You will have to have a separate line item in your work history for the changed NOC. And you will need either 2 distinct reference letters (one for each NOC) or the same reference letter has to adequately explain the tenure under the 2 NOCs and the roles & responsibilities under each of those NOCs. The compensation letter wouldn't suffice as proof of having worked in the new NOC.

4. Can we upload work permit support letters as a proof ?

They wouldn't be as strong an evidence as a detailed reference letter to prove work experience under a particular NOC.

5. And a stupid question, would images from DSLR converted into PDF work instead of actual scan of the documents ?

Absolutely! Make sure they are legible and keep an eye out for the size. 4 Mb per placeholder regardless of the number of pages in the pdf.
