I am trying to help a family member gather information about short term studies in Canada.
they Would like to come as an ESL student for 3 monthsso I am aware they technically do not need a permit. However they may consider staying and completing a longer program afterward. Should they apply for the permit initially or can they wait while they are here? They would still be well within the initial 6 months of their visitor visa.
Second for the 3 months of study would they have to show additional proof of fund like what is required for international students?
lastly is there any possibility that while they are doing their ESL program that their spouse can apply for a work permit, especially if they are going to be applying for a longer stay afterward?
