Hi,

Can you please help me in decoding the Caips notes, it is mentioned as:

PAPER FILE SENT TO PA FILE BF'D TO: EBC ON 11-01-2010 MICROLOCATOR:

rgds,
hangza

it means ur next bring forward date was 11jan, as u have requested ur caips one month back so this date has been passed and on that date they have opened ur file for further action and they must have sent some corespondence to you and fix another bring forward date.
U can share other things as well..have u done ur medical..and whats there written in PSDEC, SELDEC, BDEC...there are codes given in these items..
If SELDEC 4 is there that means interview is waived and u will receive medicals and rprf if not done yet.

gud luck

PAPER FILE SENT TO PA FILE BF'D TO: EBC ON 11-01-2010 MICROLOCATOR:

rgds,
hangza

I have learned something from your CAIPS and from your timeline which has been a subject of debate in the past. The date your e cas status changed to in process is the same date they encoded PSDEC 1 in your CAIPS. PSDEC 1 means you passed the paper screening and you got 67 points or more.

Conclusion: Under the new rules, when e cas status says "in process" it does mean that paper screening is done and have passed the 67 points assessment stage...

Anyway, regarding your CAIPS, i will take a guess that IO with initials EBC opened your file last January 11, and probably sent you the medical forms..

PSDEC 1- you got 67 points or more
SELDEC 1- you passed the eligibility screening
EBC- initials of the IO who opened your file last January 11, 2010.
BDEC- background check is not yet finished since nothing is encoded after it. This was so during the time your CAIPS was printed, say 45 days ago???.

...Am learning, right??, Senior members who are most knowledgeable about CAIPS, please help...Actually I am waiting for my order too...

hey aspire, in my caipsnotes SELDEC 4 is entered which means waived and also its written that Interview is waived...they have requested Medical and rprf to me 4months back and BDEC is still blank..what can u conclude..has they sent medicals and rprf before any background checks.
there was another column in caipsnotes:

CRIM & B'S;
HAS LIVED IN ---- TO ----
CLEAN PC/ DATED ----.
NO OBVIOUS CRIM CONCERNS.
NO OBVIOUS CONCERNS. DECS ENTERED.

I thought the above states that my criminal and background checks are over. What do u feel why BDEC is still blank

just got mine and mine says 6th feb as bfd. which is like in 3 days ::) so i probably would ask for another one but i have posted a question on the main forum as well if we can see the date our report was retrieved. seldec, psdec is 0 so probably i asked for it too soon

CAIPS (or "Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System") is where all Canadian government notes are kept about your immigration application. CAIPS includes a wealth of information, including:

*Initial assessment scores
*Missing documentation
*Interview dates
*Visa officer notes and comments
*Concerns or problems with your file

Here is how to obtain your CAIPS notes yourself :

You must be living in Canada or have someone in Canada to do the same for you. If you are living in Canada you can order your CAIPS notes or on behalf of someone else for free under the Privacy Act.

1) Go the site : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/I... and fill in the form with the required details i.e.:

a] Visa post (e.g. Buffalo, NY etc.)
b] File number (e.g. BXXXX..)
c] Date of Birth
d] Your Postal address (In Canada address only)

2) Check on the box for the CAIPS notes request in the form.
3)Provide a photocopy of your valid permit/visa in Canada (Person requesting).
4) Write a cover letter requesting the notes (Person who requests writes that).

Post all the papers together to :

If you have a friend or relative then $5 is nothing for them or if you have to pay then pay online by card. Some people have ordered it via some 3rd party which takes 30 CAD so you can do so too.
