Hi,
I am a postdoc in chemical engineering dept. My degree is in chemical engineering.
I am preparing to filling up the form under CEC. I suddenly saw a discrepancy today. My 2010 work permit (which I got at airport after landing) mentions that my occupation as "post-secondary teaching assistant” ( ie, NOC code 4122 according to 2006 list and 4012 according to 2011 NOC list. However, postdoc is now under 4011 as per new NOC list). Whereas, my renewal work permit (for two years, renewed in 2011) mentions my occupation as Chemical Engineers (ie, NOC 2134).
Shall I apply PR against NOC Code 4011 or 2134? The main duties mentions under 4011 are mainly for university professors. While 60-70% duties can be matched with duties listed under NOC 2134.
Please advise me. Can this create bigger issue for my PR application?

Since your duties matches with 2134, go ahead with this NOC. I also did like that. good luck.

chandn, did you mention your noc code as 2121 for your entire experience in Canada inspite of a different occupation title on your WP?

2134 - that is the current NOC.
