My husband is a Permanent Resident in Canada, originally from Australia. We are travelling back to Australia for a trip on Dec 24 to Jan 20. He JUST realized last night his PR card expired Oct/18. Slightly panicking now...From my understanding on the pages of Canada.ca, his best option is to apply for a PR Travel Document once we are in Australia. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Also, could I apply for an ESTA so he can enter Canada as a visitor so he can at least come back into the country?
He has met the requirements to be a permanent resident, just his card has expired.
