Can anyone help me with a query i have in regards to the post graduate work permit as i am really unsure.
The course i am taking is the Heavy Duty Mechanical Foundation Course, it is a 38 week (1,140hrs) full time program (monday to friday 8:00am-3:00pm).
I will be coming to Canada and starting the course on the 4th september and the completion of the course is the 7th of June.
After this time and graduation i was hoping to apply for the PGWP.
It says on the Cic website Minimum of 8 months are eligible for the permit, I am just wondering if my length of study from the dates above is going to be enough to qualify?
Do the Cic count the 8 months eligibility study time as from starting of the course to the completion?
As i see it i will be enrolled for just over 9 months, am i correct in thinking this and is this the way CIC will assess it?
My consultant seems to think we will have no problems securing a PGWP if i complete the course, but I am have my doubts as the college i am attending have advised me that i may not be eligible for it due to the duration of the course
Any help would be much appreciated!

So maybe clarify how the college classifies the course. Does the college in the prospectus list the course as a 1 year course or a 9 month course ? That is key to the PGWP application when you submit with course completion from the college.

The college lists the course as a full-time 38week, 8-9month (1140hrs)course .Upon completion of The program includes a two-week industry work placement. Graduates of this program will receive an Okanagan College program certificate, Level 1 Technical Training credit and 450 work-based training hours towards one of the four trades from the Industry Training Authority.
Will this affect the PGWP as my consultant believes we will be able to get one for at least 8 months?
