how can i know and where can i verify if my agency in canada is not a illegal recriutment agency???pls,,need for your advice...thnx...

Are they asking you to pay money up front/in advance?

Scylla is correct.

If they ask you for any money to "help you" find work, or give promises to introduce you to companies, or submit them on your behalf don't use them.

In Canada, agencies and recruiters are payed by the hiring company. Their fee is NOT taken out of your salary in any form. It's a separate and additional fee that recruiters charge to the company.

While there are some very good companies that will offer (for pay) to help you develop a resume for Canadian standards, in this case you are getting something for your fee. This however, should not cost you a ridiculous amount. A few hundred dollars in some cases, depending on whether they provide you 1-1 time, meet you face-to-face, or is it all on-line?
