My wife/sponsor (Canadian born and raised) has been in the states for 9 years. I am US citizen born and raised. We started the process in 2007 but had some issues and I got denied. We appealed December 2010 and the denial got overturned. In Feb. of 2011 I got something in the mail requesting my background checks from FBI, Alabama and Wisconsin, Completion of IMM0008, completion of Medical Exam and payment of Right of Perminat Residence fee. All were done completed/sent in/paid by May 2011. We have since relocated to Canada and I got a Temp. Visa upon entry to Canada. Based on all this can anyone help us on a timeline or someone to contact? Based upon reading on here I think we can all agree trying to email Buffalo (which we have done) is almost pointless. Any help/guidance would be appreciated. Here is more info on us:
Met in Jan of 2005
Married March of 2006
Son born August 2010 (citienship paperwork has been sent in)

Depends on if you applied outside Canada or within Canada. Heres the time lines for both.

You could also try Calling the Immigration call centre: 1-888-242‑2100

Good Luck :D

Thank you for your help, but the website is no help, calling is no help they say refer to the website and when you call they say send an email. Well no info from either. I will tell you one thing it was much easier to get help when my wife got residency in the states.

Did you apply inland or outside of Canada?

We applied outside Canada, from Alabam to be exact. My wife lost her job so that is when we decided to move up here a little early. Also to help take care of her mother. Thanks for any help.

Its about 30 to 45 days for them to approve your wife to sponsor you and on the website it says 11 months to get approved, but I have noticed that its only been takes on average 5 to 6 months for Buffalo, some are shorter some are longer ( Americans coming over to Canada.)

So depending on when in May you sent everything whether it was the beginning or the end you should be hearing back anytime. If it was the beginning of May I would try calling them as soon as they open in the morning that way you dont have a crazy wait time. I dont think they can tell you anything about your app but they should be able to give you your Client ID number

A lot of people seem to order their CAIPS notes too, I haven't done that so I don't know much about it, but supposedly it tells you more about what's going on

This is an appeal that has been successful. Contact your MP and ask them to assist you. Buffalo will respond to them.
