Hi guys, I completed my engineering in computer science in 2009. After that I went to UK for post graduation in 2010. Due to some personal reasons I couldnt complete my studies over there had to come back to home in 2011 august. Right now I am considering Studies in canada. My aim is to work in canada after my studies and get a PR over there in future.

I heard that there is a lot of competition for universities over there, so I do not want to waste time getting rejected from them as I do not really bright academics. So I am thinking of applying in colleges . I have the following questions

1. Will the colleges offer master degrees?
2. Will I get job over there after my studies?
3. Is getting a PR easy?
4. Which cities do you recommend best for International students?
5. Any good college suggestions?
6. Finally guys knowing my background info what are feasible options for me right now?

Thank you guys for taking time to read my post.

Hi,

1 & 2. NO, No University/college can assure you or anyone 100% job.. it's upto the student to bag a job, saying this.. of-course enrolling in the best/ top grade universities, having a brilliant academic record, performing very well, networking, coupled with other skills & of course some luck..the likelihood of getting a job increases a lot.

3. It depends on your capacity, to complete the studies, get PGWP(post grad work permit), find a skilled job (may or may not be in your area of study), work for 1 year (6 months or even 3 in case of PNPs) and then apply via either CEC or other PNPs.

4. Most international students prefer bigger cities like Toronto, Vancouver etc. Province wise Ontario, BC, Quebec, Alberta are the most popular destinations. Some may prefer smaller North Atlantic provinces such as Nova Scotia. It really depends on your choice.

5. Most colleges, listed under CIC recognized colleges/Universities eligible for PGWP, are more or less same.Rather focus on the course and in which province you want to pursue in. Check: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/participants.asp

6. Given you've got an Engineering degree, if you 've very good academic record (atleast 70%), score good in IELTS you can look forward to apply for a Master's degree in CS. Or else, you can look forward to plethora of PG level courses in the field of IT available in most colleges of Ontario..other places. But given your record of leaving the post grad study midway in UK, that really makes a bad impression on your profile... this will be seen as a sign of not so genuine student..and it 'll definitely be the biggest hurdle for you. Anyways, go ahead..and see, what happens. These are purely my personal opinion..and you should look into other sources..better visit a reputed/ top level consultant (and not just any roadside consultant) and see what they 've to say.

Best of Luck.
