Hi all,

We just got my application returned in today because it was missing an item. I double checked and yes it is my mistake. I didn't include the form IMM5406.
I am planning to call CIC and clear things up tomorrow morning but in the mean time, I'd like to get some helps/ideas from you guys.

So, my package is all un-clipped and they were not in order anymore and had a letter of informing us that we're missing an item on the very front of all the papers.
On this letter, there is the list of items with check box. What we got was just one part ('A current, completed and signed Additional Family Information IMM5406') highlighted.
So, We assume that that's the only part that's missing - any thoughts on this?, of course we'll double check everything again though.

Another concern is about my Open Work Permit application. Yes, I did send it in together with my PR application as it was under the "pilot program" that they've started.
However, my work permit application didn't come back. So we're wondering if that means the work permit is in process or they're holding it until we re-submit the PR application with the missing form?
Any idea, anyone?
Or, do I have to prepare another OWP application??
I already paid for PR application (total$1040) and OWP fee as well.

Also, I understand I'll have to re-organized all my forms with the missing form added, However, should I change other forms too if there are any updated forms...?
Or can I just add what's missing and re-submit?

SIGH...
Please help me on this if anyone has some idea
I'll keep you guys updated if I figure out anything new from the phone call.

Thank you so much for any input in advance!

1st of all..Take a DEEP breath! It's Not the end of the world.
:) just reorganize all the papers...add what's missing and yes, make sure all the forms arent outdated....if they updated some forms just fill out the New ines and include them with application. As for OWP...I don't know much about that but if they haven't returned it to you and you paid all the fees I would think that part is fine...Not sure if they started processing it or waiting for rest of your application to come back. Give them a call and ask. Again, breathe! It will all be fine ;)

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it.
I've been trying to get connected with the agent on the phone but it says high volume, try again... So I'm getting to a point of wondering if I called the right number?
Any idea of the number to call to speak to an agent please? I called 1 888 242 2100 and I wasn't sure which to select so I ended up going for 1-1-1-1 I think..

I just need to double check about what's going on with my OWP.... :(

On the bright side, we got engaged on New years day, so I could add this information?

Anything helps!!
Thank you in advance!

Did you get an AOR before you got your application returned?

Not likely, because applications are checked for completeness (including current form(s) and required signature(s)) before an AOR would be issued.

Nope, I didn't get AOR. I'm missing one form.

Hey Ponga,

All my forms are up to date so I just ended up needing to add the form I was missing.
However, since they were checking for completeness, some of forms already have the stamps saying RECEIVED.
Do you have any idea if it's necessary to use the new forms or is it ok to send them back in? I'll indicate that I'm re-submitting as well.

Thanks in advance!

When did you submit your inland application?? Wondering if mine may be sent back!

Since everything was returned, I'd send any updated forms just in case.

Once an application has been accepted by CIC, that becomes your locked-in date, but in your case...your application wasn't accepted, so when they get it again it will be put at the back of the line.

I wonder how they determine whether or not to send the app back. There was another person in this forum stating that they just sent them an email to send the missing form instead if sending the whole application back. Maybe it depends on the VO

Exactly!

It seems to depend on the VO and/or how important that updated information on the updated form is, in relation to the applicant and/or the sponsor.

One thing's for sure...continuity is not something that CIC seems to embrace.

From what I understand, its the CPC that sends them back. Once an app gets sent over to a VO after AOR, they'll only send emails in the case of missing docs. The only time I'd head of a VO returning an app was when it got rejected.

The whole point of the AOR is that someone at CIC has deemed it to be complete.

Having said that, there have been people that have had their entire application returned even after receiving their AOR...which only speaks to the constant inconsistencies with CIC.
