Hi everyone. I've a question regarding filling in details in the "Personal history" section of my application. There was a year when I was not employed by any company, but I did freelance gigs on the side. I might have done a few gigs over the course of the year. I'm an artist so I did graphic design work at the time.

To list it in my personal history section, do I list each individual gig that I did, or can I say that I was freelancing for the entirety of that year?

Not a consultant, just my take. You don't need to list each individual gig separately. List it as one entry covering the full period you were freelancing, something like "Self-employed / Freelance Graphic Designer" with the start and end dates of that year.

IRCC wants to see that there are no unexplained gaps in your personal history. A single freelance entry covering that period does the job. If the work was occasional rather than full-time, you're not claiming it as qualifying work experience anyway, so the main goal is just showing what you were doing during that time.
