Help on TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS REQUIREMENT

Please I would appreciate it if someone advice me on this issue:

Checklist: TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS
On the requirement it only states:

• Passports or travel documents for you, your spouse or and
your dependent children. Include only copies of pages showing the passport
number, date of issue and expiry, your photo, name, date and place of birth.
• If you live in a country different from your nationality, include a photocopy of your
visa for the country where you currently live.
• You must hold a valid regular passport; diplomatic, official, service or public
affairs passports are not valid for immigration to Canada

Please I would like to find out if my Partner (common-law partner) will I need to send his visa page copy too?as he is not the principal applicant because we are both foreigners living in London. and my partner has no visa in his passport but i have.
please help!

I cannot answer this question but will ask you a question so future respondents might find it easier to answer given more information.

Is your spouse illegally in UK? Why does your spouse not have a visa on their passport?

The reason why I ask this is that CIC is eventually going to see that your spouse doesn't have a visa and I don't know if it will matter at that point even it turns out that it doesn't matter now.

His situation is a complex one...He can be regarded as Illegal now because he has no Imigration status here (He lost his document in entry and no record was detected concerning his entry here). However, he has a passport new now which was replaced by his embassy here in London. Do you think I have to remove him from my application so this will not affect it?

I think yes, as your partner is going to illegal in country of current residence, it may delay/refusal of your visa/application. As its Common-Law partner only, its better your remove him from application. This is one personal advise only, as i have no further knowlege of CIC action on this situation, as

Oh, okay..thanks for your response...the problem is, he not just just a common-law partner, we both have 3 children... well, i do not know exactly how to go about this now..

You do not have to remove him from the application just because he has no visa for England, you as a principle applicant must have at least one year of legal stay in the country you are applying from.

They will not reject you just because your spouse is illegal, you can apply together and sign a common-law form and certify it before sending. CIC will give you a common law form.

Although, you need all your and his police reports from your native country as well as from UK and in any country you lived more than 6 months.

that is a brilliant remark..I hope it goes well, because I don't know how more to go about this. He is very worried about this too...he will not want his issue to spoil this whole Canada migration,he want it to go well for the sake of his Kids he said... he has applied for UK residence permit but got rejected because he does not have enough fund in his account... No worries, I am not an IO but I can say calm down. He will not spoil anything, just keep all records including application to the work permit in UK and rejection, this shows at least you tried to become legal.
