Help on student visa

Hello guys,

I applied for a student visa on November 6. The processing time for my country is around 5 weeks (Brazil). I know I have to consider the time to send my passaport after I get approved though.

However, I haven't received any response so far. I'm kinda worried because my classes start on January 3. What should I do? Is there any chance of requesting urgency in this case? Pls help me

There is no urgent processing for study permits, you can only wait. Be sure track application in myCIC account.

It says “We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.”
And “We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.”

If I don’t get a response on time, I think I’ll consider applying for a visitor visa instead, which would take 12 days, probably. What do you think about it?

Dont do that. It only shows that you are desparate to come to canada and are trying all options. Have patience and wait for the study permit.

If it is too late you can try to defer to the next semester. That is pretty standard. Getting a TRV in 12 days is only an estimate and could take much longer.
