Hi All,

I recently got my ITA and am preparing my documentation.

My question is regarding the ref letter. I am currently working for company X for the last 4 years and will be providing a ref letter from them. However, I had also worked for 2 other companies between 2009-2012 - Company A - 10 months, Company B - 10 months.

Would I need to submit ref letters explaining those job roles from those 2 older companies as well or would offer letter and relieving letter suffice? All these are the same NOC code.

Please advise me.

If you aren't claiming points for those past employments, no need to add them in work history. Show them in your personal history. Doing this, it will not ask you to upload documentation for those employments.

Hi. Thanks for your response. what is the maximum years of experience one can claim points for under FSW? I read somewhere it is 3 and somewhere else people said 6. Confused and worried. :(

3 years for EE and I think 6 years to max out points for FSW. As long as you are above 67 for federal, you are good.

Is there a way I can check my federal score? I do not have too much knowledge about this bit. :(

Gentlemen, yes thank you. So my question was would only an experience and reference letter( current company ) which showcases 4 years in noc 1123 and 1 year in different noc suffice? In my earlier organizations i did 10 months in 2 different companies, but that was 8 years ago and I have no way to contact them for a reference letter. I do have an offer and relieving letter. Please advise.

Thanks a lot.

If 5 years of work experience are good enough to meet MEC (most likely it will be but calculate just to confirm), then you are good to go. Don't put those 2 companies in work experience when creating your profile, just put them in personal history when filling your application and the software won't ask you for reference letter for these 2 companies.

My profile is already created by my consultant. Not sure what they have done. Can check, but they are telling me that it would not be a problem at all.

When you mean MEC, are you referring to the FSW 67 point basic criteria?

I have an ITA and my profile was created for that purpose. :) But my question still remains and I am unclear on the way forward.

  • company A - 10 months ( noc 1123 )
  • company B - 10 months ( noc 1123 )
  • company C , current role - 4 years in noc 1123 and 1 year in different noc.( total 5 years and gaining experience )

So, I only have the detailed reference letter from company C which states I have worked 4 years in noc 1123 and 1 year in another role. I am planning to provide only this along with offer letter, relieving letter from my company A and B. I think my consultant mentioned 6 years total work experience in the profile while creating.

Would this suffice and not put my documentation on hold for further clarification? please advise.

If you write Company A and Company B in the work experience section of your application, then you will have to provide reference letters.

If you don't, then you won't.
