I am a medical doctor from Ethiopia. I have an experience of working as a general medical practitioner for two years. I want to immigrate to Canada for this to happen which program is very applicable for my situation.
You are in luck! Canada in general is seeking doctors like crazy! There are few hurdles to practice here but for immigration its trying to seek as many practioners as possible.
Look at this post from sometime back :

Two obvious immigration programs are
FSW and
PNP. You can come here as what is called a
federal skilled worker (FSW).The advantage of FSW is that you will be able to live anywhere in Canada as a Permanent Resident. Its what typically the program EVERY profession person here takes. Its a point based immigration program. Let me find a good guide to it that will help you see if you fit in its criteria. Most likely you will. I will post a link to that later.
The cons of FSW are two fold. Its a bit too popular, its cutoff might be higher and you have to wait long and it is a general path meaning, you will still have to figure out your licensing to practice medicine in Canada AFTER you arrive here. That may take long.
Now, PNP or Provincial Nomination Program.
Lots of provinces are looking to immigrate health care professionals. Do you have a province in mind where you want to go? For instance you may have family or friends there and you want to go there. If you have then look into its provincial nomination program which will make your journey easier. It varies from province to province.
If you have not selected a province to settle, then may I entice you to my province, ie, British Columbia or BC and specifically health authority of my region ie Vancouver Island in BC? We have a massive shortage of doctors! Its a quite a bit expensive place to live here but as a doctor you will have no shortage of jobs as we have a massive shortage of trained doctors and EVENTUALLY you will make a ton of money. Really a LOT!
Take a look at this :
https://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate-to-B-C/Skills-Immigration#HealthAuthority (This is BC's PNP program, it does need you to be able to practice here.),
also this::
https://medicalstaff.islandhealth.ca/organization/medical-staff-support-and-resources/recruitment (This is Vancouver Island Health Authority's recruitment page. They are one of Health Authority who run BC's PNP program and also program to help them get a license in BC).
I am not 100% sure how much time this path will take as I am NOT a doctor. But know this, eventually you will have to get a license to practice. This path may set you up for license early and might save you trouble of living in Canada, spending money while working low income jobs.
Now to be very very honest, since I am not a doctor, I have never done immigration as a doctor so I do not know how well equipped these from Health Authority are in helping doctors from abroad, but in general BC is working to entice doctors from all over world to come and settle in BC.
One starting place will be to contact the recruiter of your speciality. For instance, if you practice internal medicine shoot an email to its recruiter. If you practice primary care, shoot an email to its recruiter.
Let me also try and find more info for you.
Just to be honest again, there are other health authorities in BC covering their region. If you want check out their pages too! (
