If someone converts religions in order to legally marry does CIC want to see some sort of conversion certificate or is the marriage certificate specifying bride and grooms religion being the same all that is going to be asked for?

1, In some case yes, for example in India, if you marry under the Hindu marriage Act, they want to that you have actually converted so that the marriage is legal.

The more proof the better. In my opinion, it would look better to CIC if the confirmation of change in religion came from an official document, as opposed to you telling them.
