Hello!
I have completed my
graduation with 79.16%
12th 87.2%
10th 81 %
Worked with IBM India for 6 months.
ielts- 6.5 (L8 R6 W6 S6.5) I have consulted a consultancy here in India and they ask me to pursue PG diploma course in the community colleges rather than masters in universities.
The reasons they state are:
Cost of Education for masters is very high
PG diploma is work experience program and while studying PG diploma it is easy to work rather than masters.

Could anybody please provide me the below information?
Is my profile suitable for masters?
Is masters program hectic and tough?
Finally should I opt for PG diploma or masters? ( Could you also please provide me the details of the cost of education for PG diploma and masters?)

Thanks in advance

1. Your profile is very good. Actually in Canada all reputed (or above-average Universities) do NOT entertain roadside consultants, which makes it difficult for all consultancies to make business/money. They have tie-up only with colleges (or with one/two low graded Universities) so obviously they try their butt off to convince applicants for PG Diploma.
2. You can search for all possible courses/Universities at http://www.canadian-universities.net/Universities/index.html It's really not a rocket science to apply by your own efforts. You can apply for a Master degree provided you hold a 4 years (not 3 years) of UG degree.

Opt for masters only

Masters will be a good option.
Yes, you need to study more in Masters than PG Diploma.
But Masters degree will help you a lot in jobs and Permanent residency.
But your UG degree must be of 4 years to apply for masters.

Thank you so much with all the prompt responses. :) I really appreciate it.
Yes UG I completed was of 4 years long.
So I should opt for masters rather than PG diploma? Isn't it?

Welcome :)

Try for University of Manitoba or Saskatchewan , Both are affordable for Masters and very good option for Permanent Residency.

*Both of them doesn't come in Top 5 University in Canada*

Good Luck

Depends on what you are expecting as outcome of from your studies.

Your indian experience might not be considered here for future jobs post masters.(information gathered from this forum, personally not sure about this belif) So its better you select a program with co-op options.

If you want to grow more in to Research/Technical go for masters else you can opt PG diploma.

Go for university masters, your profile is really good, and you can definitely get admission. Although fees are comparatively high, its worth it after all its a degree and not diploma.
