Have to admit that it’s my own fault for not knowing that virtual oath ceremony has already been a thing, I missed their email twice (in fact, four times, they both sent additional emails to re-confirm with me, fml). Today, unfortunately, I just saw the second confirmation of the second proposed ceremony meeting session which is tomorrow 11AM, hahaha... only 10 hours(?) away. Nice.

One thing make the situation even worse is that I’m flying back to China to visit my grandparents and deal with other private matters next month. In this case, I can’t join Canadian citizenship at this time since I will not be permitted to enter China without being their citizen, thanks to their policy. Does anyone have the same issue??? Will I still be eligible for the next available session?? Is my reason for not attending legit enough?? Can I postpone the ceremony until I come back next year?

I already replied but I’m so anxious that I can’t fall asleep, if you have any idea please comment... thank you.

Also another question, the meeting time in the email doesn’t indicate the time zone, does anyone know which time zone is the ceremony/service based on? For reference, I applied in Ontario and attended the citizenship test in Ontario, but I moved back to BC and the home address is my current address in BC.

It's hard to say because the virtual ceremonies are new. It sounds like you missed your first already ceremony so they automatically rescheduled you. Don't know if they'll reschedule you yet again or tell you that you need to reapply. Generally I believe only one reschedule is provided. I would contact them asap.

Which email do they send it from? I'll add it to priority.
