I am not a Canadian citizen, but currently holding a valid PR card.

Does my passport needed to show at the boarder if I am traveling back to Canada with my valid PR card by a private vehicle from the States ? The reason I'm asking this is because I just realized that my passport from my home country is about to expired. So, I'm worried.

Thanks in advance !

You can renew your passport at your embassy in USA. However, if your PR Card is not expired, you can still enter Canada. You should show your passport at the boarder together with your PR Card for entering to Canada either by road or by flight. Without passport no entry is possible.
