Hi,

I'm applying for OINP, and I already have NOI from Ontario in the last tech draw.

I'm working remotely with a US based company since last 6 months. My pay or salary is fixed and it is being transferred to my account using using TransferWise.

Now I have two copies of my contract with my current employer.

First says that it is private and confidential and shouldn't be sent to a 3rd party. This document says that I'm a software developer and also mention my salary and date of start of contract.

Second document doesn't mention that it is confidential but it doesn't list all the required details. It only mentions that the contract is between Client and a Contractor and then mentions the terms and conditions.

I have asked the company for a new contract or a letter/certificate stating employment / proof of funds, but I haven't received any positive response from them. All emails have a standard signature - "This message contains confidential information and is intended only for the individual named. ".

So I don't have a public contract that has all correct details, and the emails are also "private and confidential", what should I do now?

1. According to the second document, If I am a contractor with 6 months of recurring income sent to my bank accounts, am I self employed?

2. If yes, then I don't have any documents mentioned on OINP's website to prove that, since I don't have a registered business in my name. What category should I choose in my application?

I have 7 years of experience after my Post Graduation.

Work History

1. Jan 2014 - Jun 2017 (3 Years Six months)
2. Jul 2017 - Jul 2018 (1 Year 1 Month)
3. Aug 2018 - Nov 2018 ( 4 Months)
4. Apr 2019 - Oct 2019 (7 Months)
5. Oct 2020 - Current (~6 Months) - This is the job I'm worried about. I have all necessary documents for above mentioned jobs.

Personal History

1. Dec 2018 - March 2019 ( 4 Months) - Unemployed
2. Nov 2019 - October 2020 - Experience gained in a startup mostly without pay, Startup failed because of covid and is closed now. Only Document that I have is an Experience Certificate.

Thank you for reading this long post.

Any help is going to be appreciated.

For anyone who is in a similar situation here is what I did.

After thinking and researching a lot about this, I have finally decided to add these jobs to my personal history as I already have more than required 67 points. Here is my calculation based on rules mentioned on Canada's official website.

1. Language skills points

IELTS Score: CLB 9

Points Scored: 24

2. Education points

My ECA report from WES says Canadian Equivalency is "Master's degree"

Points Scored: 23

3. Work experience points

Total Experience: 5 Years and 6 months.

Points Scored: 13

4. Age points

My Age is between 18-35.

Points Scored: 12

5. Arranged employment in Canada points

Points Scored: 0

6. Adaptability points

Points Scored: 0

Total Points: 72.

Let's see if this works

If I were you, I would just provide both contacts and an explanation. Hope this helps.
