the letter that came with my application said the reason why they have returned my application UNPROCESSED was because i must provide a common law questionnaire IMM5285 and then re submit the complete application.
which is a form you have to send for Inland applications... again i filed outland!
4 months of waiting!!!
anyone have any suggestions of anything i could do to maybe get my file expedited??

and i've double checked all my application forms and i 100% filed outland! even the cover note i wrote in bold OUTLAND APPLICATION

by mp, canuck means member of parliament. it would be the person who represents the area the sponsor lives in. you can google "how to find my member of parliament" and you city to find the search page. you'll then be able to do a search by the sponsor's canadian address.

thanks guys!
Can't believe this has happened, the call agent told me they would transfer my file, never expected it to be returned!!

Unfortunately, if your application has been returned UNPROCESSED (aka, no file number etc), it will be very difficult for an MP to make a case specific enquiry to a file that technically does not exist with CIC.

I would call CIC call centre, and see what one of the agents say to do. I would actually called 4-5 times and just keep repeating your story and see what the different agents tell you to do.

i don't think the suggestion to call the MP is to have them inquire about the file that was returned. i think the suggestion was to get the MP to help with resending the package and possibly doing something so that the first stage is expedited. who knows if it can happen. it's worth a shot. calling the CIC call center is certainly not going to result in anything successful since the package was sent back.

Actually, do you have a file number?/Did you receive an AOR?

This is what I would do:

-Email CPC Mississagua and ATTACH the refusal letter along with an entire explanation of what happened. Maybe that way, they can expedite your application.

Your MP can also do this.

i did eventually recieve AOR, there is a file no. but no UCI no.
think i'll call cic on monday to see what they say! not sure if my file still exists as they returned everything!
