Hello I'm desperately seeking help. Might spouse got called in for interview. I retained a lawyer from Toronto to fill in the application. He changed the dates of the ceremonies in the application. After many months I found this out. I'm not even certain what he filed as he never gave me a true copy. Now the lawyer is not returning any calls.
Under the circumstances I'm thinking the following,
If prior to or doing interview the dates are corrected would it have a negative impact for the application? Initial meeting date is wrong. Ceremony dates are incorrect and do not match the submitted pictures. I'm not sure what to do at this point. However marriage date is correct ceremony description is not. Please help.

You should send a letter to the visa office immediately correcting this error. Explain how the mistake occurred and apologize for the error. While your lawyer may have completed the application, you had to sign the forms confirming all information was accurate and should have verified all dates and other information before doing so. CIC will hold you (not your lawyer) responsible for any errors. For this reason you need to contact the visa office as soon as you can to let them know about this mistake.

Thank you. The lawyer tricked us in to thinking that the dates were corrected during submission.
Interview is only 10 days from now. Not enough time to get the letter in to the overseas office.
Should this be corrected during the interview with a forwarding letter? [I have a copy of the email from the lawyer stating that he has changed the dates - yes he actually wrote it down in an email!]. Maybe send one in now via fax / courier and take one as a hard copy?

One option is to use the "Case-specific" inquiry on the website and send your version of events along with scanned copies of documents that confirm what you state. The original documents can then the taken to the interview.

Now sit back and review the situation. You and your spouse got married. You want to sponsor her. Is there anything fraudulent in this? Apparently not. Some mistakes were made either by you or your representative. When you got to know about it, you took the steps to correct it. This is what the visa officer would see. And this should be your aim when you send those scanned documents online and when explaining to the visa officer during the interview.

Hey Guys, I am in a similar situation now. I have recently submitted my spousal application for processing. My consultant prepared the final documents for me but in the forms he mentioned that i visited my spouse during engagement and wedding period. I specifically mentioned to the consultant that i have not visited my spouse during engagement but was present for the wedding and honeymoon period. I have these instructions in writing in the email before submitting the application.
However he didnt remove that sentence. Now the application has been submitted. I have discussed this with my consultant and told me that we will submit a new form soon.
I am not sure what will happen what should i do ? i am already worried even before my application has started its process.
