Hi guys,

I used my my old medical exam result which is around 4 years ago for my EE application, as IRCC have a temporary 5 year medical exempt period.

Today when I checked my application tracker, the medical exam shows a green- "completed" but not passed. What does that mean? Did I pass the exam or not? Or does it mean they accept my exempt?

Thank you. Any reply is appreciated.

Tracker shows "Completed" for me a well. That's fine. GCKey uses the language "You've passed your medical exams".

It shows "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes" So does this probably mean that I have passed??

Yes I did, because right now IRCC has a 5 year medical exempt period until 2024. Not sure if they will ask me for a new one tho.

Unlikely they'll ask. When you link old medicals, GCKey says "You don't need a medical exam..." which is what you see in your case. That's why you see the difference between those who did upfront medicals. They submit a new medical and as a result had "[date] You passed the medical exam." in GCkey.

Gotcha. In your opinion, only people who had a new medical exam would see "you passed your medical exam"?
In other words, people who used their old results will see that they don't need one and will never be asked to take one?

Thank you.

I've seen that a bit. Can't say if it isn't anecdotal. But yes, if your trackers says your medical is "Complete" - it is pass :)

I was waiting for MR, but got a medical passed instead. IRCC used my old medical from my SP application.

Hi thanks for the input. Did u have a time period that shows “you don’t need a medical exam?” So it will be come “medical passed” eventually?

Yes, when I received AOR, my gckey shows "you don't need a medical exam". The temp policy was fairly new then so I was waiting for an MR (am not expecting to be qualified for the temp policy). Then I just received medical pass. My timeline is in my signature.

Mine was "Complete" until the realized my old ones had expired mid processing and then it went back to "in Progress" ;) and they requested new ones lol
