Nothing. Everyone gets a ticket who signs up. It is an event that newcomers who live in Canada can attend. Anyone can attend if you are in Canada.

So your dad, not you want to visit Canada. Why can't he just apply for a visitor visa? Why does he need to attend a church event? You can't surprise him as he would have to apply for a visitor visa.
