Hi all, I’m a fourth year university student at Toronto, and my pr card expired couple days ago.
I already sent my application by mail on Oct 5th, but no online status update yet. The thing is, I just received one interview opportunity at one of my dream companies at US (around 3 day travel), and they booked the flight for me already on Jan 18th. I’m not sure if I am able to receive my PR card by that time, I need some help from you!
After a bit searching, I think I have some options, the main goal is to get me back to canada ASAP after the interview as I dont want to miss any classes, exams.
1. Urgent PR renewal processing. Job opportunity is one qualified reason according to the cic website, am I right?
2. PRTD , but my stay in US is short only 3 days, i dont know if the time is enough.
3. Use COPR to go back via Niagara falls. Would it be viable if I fly to buffalo first, then let my friend in Toronto drive across border and take me back to Canada? I only have expired PR card, non-visa exempt passport (China) and COPR.
Are these three options legit and safe? I think as long as the third option works I wont be worrying too much...
I have spent more than 4years out of past 5 years in Canada so I assume I should be qualify the PR renew rule.
