Hi guys. I would like to ask about my situation. So its been 4 months me and common law partner ended our relationship together. By the way im still under my ex sponsorship for 3 years if im not mistaken though i never get her money since i have my own job and savings. Fast forward I moved on and have a girlfriend now in Asia. I am a permanent residence here in Canada. So my current girlfriend planning to have a vacation in Canada. I was thinking to provide invitation letter for her so she could come here for visit.

Question is am I going to have problem with CIC since I had common law relationship before and just recently ended and now i want to to provide invitation letter for my new girlfriend to come here? Will it hurt her chance of getting the visitor visa because of that? Thanks in advance guys

Your personal history probably won't make any difference. To be approved, the most important thing for her to demonstrate is that she is a genuine visitor and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. She'll need to show she has strong ties to her home country. In case this turns into something serious, you're aware that it will be three years from the time you landed and became a PR before you can apply to sponsor anyone as your spouse or common law partner.

Yes im aware about the waiting period of 3 years before i can sponsor her as spouse. So do you think I can just go ahead write the invitation letter for my girlfriend and my past history won't affect the decision of her visa?
