Can someone help me with the following:
Security
Type: Security screening
SII indicator : NO <<< Does it mean they ran a check on my name and nothing showed up?

Under criminality:
It asks for fingerprints

At the end of the notes, there are several activities which are confusing:-

Activity 3
Activity type: RCMP screening
New value: Fingerprints required
Updated date:2013/05/30
Updated by: SADMIN

Activity 4
Activity type: RCMP screening
New value: Submitted <<<< What does this mean compared to activity 3?
Updated date:2013/05/30
Updated by:JO03090

Activity 8
Activity type: Security screening
New value: Not started <<<< Over here security screening has not started then what were activities 3 and 4?
Updated date: 2013/05/30
Updated by:JO03090

So, my question is will I need to do fingerprints? If yes, can you tell me how to get them done?

If they need your fingerprints, they will ask for them. There is a difference of security screening vs criminality screening. Activity 3 is just standard admin information that was input when your application was started. Activity 4, as denoted by the 'updated by' is the identity number of the VO working on your application. It means your application is currently in process.

Thanks Alurra71, I checked the notes under criminality section:
It says fingerprints required.
Assigned to: RC-9512
Assigned by: JO03090

Due date: 2013/06/29
Does that mean they are going to do it internally without requesting the applicant?

I can't say with 100% surety here, Guri. Is there a date associated with this particular section as well? Usually with GCMS notes if there was something requested of the applicant there is a note there that a letter or information request was made to the application and gives the date this was done. If you see nothing of this nature in the 'notes' section of your GCMS, then this is something that is being done internally, would be my best guess.

I'm sure someone else might have more insight into this, so hopefully you can get a 100% clear answer to your question!

The only other data that seems relevant to this part is:
Status updated by: SADMIN
Updated date: 2013/05/30

I guess I'll wait for now and make another notes request end of next month. Thanks for your input :)

I made a mistake in my second post under criminality section, it says fingerprints required not requested.

Records are in reverse chronological order. So Record 3 is chronologically after record 4, and both are chronologically after record 8. This should help you understand the flow - it went from "not started" to "submitted" to "fingerprints required".

It does look like RCMP indicated they could not give you an NRT based upon just your biodata. Is there no outgoing correspondence shown in the Notes section at the end? It seems strange they would wait so long to ask you to get your RCMP results done.

You can do them proactively - some people have done this, but in general I don't recommend it. In your case where GCMS indicates it is needed, I'd probably do so.

It is odd that you haven't heard from them.

Note: "Security" is not the same as "criminality". Security issues relate to things that don't typically show up in a criminal records search: war crimes, genocide, terrorism, organized crime involvement, espionage, etc. So you could come back just fine with security (and almost everything useful here is redacted) but still need an RCMP fingerprint check.

This means they didn't send the letter. not clear why - and note that the due date of July 29 has come and gone. Very strange.

Yeah that's what I was wondering as well. Maybe they cross checked the details and decided they weren't required? In any case I will get them done to be on the safe side.

Did you end up doing RCMP screening or did CIC ask you for it? I have the same on my notes but CIC did not ask me for it.

The poster is probably long gone as the post was from 2014. I had a message on my notes that RCMP fingerprints were REQUESTED, yet they never sent us an email asking for them. The due date was April 1, 2017. I saw it on July 11, when I received my first set of notes. So I emailed the VO and 4 days later I was sent an email requesting that we send in the RCMP certificate.

Wow, thank you so much for replying! My AOR is June 21 under CEC. I got my GCMS notes Oct 24 and they were generated on Sep 26. I can see on my notes that on Aug 22, my notes said Fingerprint required under RCMP screening but I was never requested for it. How did you get the email of the VO? There is no email address on my notes. I guess I will submit it via CSE. I still wonder why CIC never asked for it if they needed for it? Thanks once again for your input!
