-My story-

I met my husband 4 years ago online he is from Italy and we fell in love so quickly and have loved each other from a far for a long time.

we met over a art community website DeviantART in 2007. Art was a big thing we had in common. We make each other smile anytime we are down and are always there for each other always. We are so in love there is nothing we won't do for each other.

We finally met in real life in June 09 while he only stayed for that one month. He came back to me in September 09 he stayed with me another six months. Then he came back a final time in April 2010 and has to leave again soon July 19th. We are currently pregnant and our son will be here August 4th we both are in desperate need of someone to sponsor him because this is the only way he can stay with me here in canada to work and to be here to help me. I am unable to sponsor him as I am a single parent on government walfare trying to get my high school done and to find a Job to care for my children. He won't even be able to see his son be born and this is something we are very sad about. We both want to do what ever we have to for our family and children and future. We are both in hope that someone can find it in there heart to help us we will do anything for him to stay. We love each other deeply and can't bare to leave each other once more.

I don't know what you're looking for...no one else can sponsor him but you.

First of all, he can apply to extend his visitor's visa, and may be able to meet his baby. Is there any possible way you can get off welfare so that you can sponsor him? Ask for help from friends and family...get a job, any kind of job, just enough so that you will be approved as a sponsor.

What province are you in? Could he apply under a provincial program? Does he have a trade or skill? Could he get a good job here?

What about you moving to Italy with him for a year or so? If you are a Canadian citizen you could do that while his application is in process.

I'm sorry this is such a stressful time for you. More information would be good in order for other people to point you in the right direction.

We are trying to apply for an extension on his visa but you need to do so 30 days before the expiry date on his visitor visa and the date expires in 10 days.
I am unable to find work here and have to take care of 2 children for now that is why i am on walfare to get the rest of my high school so i can be able to better
find a job because its really hard to find jobs right now.

I live in Ontario , provincial program? what do you mean by this where could i find out of my province has this ? I am afraid for us he doesn't have a trade or skill , besides that he can speak English , Italian , and German. we tried to get him on a work visa but failed he needs to much experience for this. For now i am unable to go to italy sadly because i am pregnant and the government here won't allow me to travel while they give me money. So i am guessing we might have to deal with him leaving again if there is nothing else i can do.

if he goes to the border (stay on the Canada side) with proof of funds and proof of health insurance then they can give him a new visitor's record right then and there. I've done it several times and its maybe takes 40 minutes for them to process it.

I believe 30 days is the recommended time to get your extension in, but it is not absolute. I would fed-ex the application to extend first thing Monday morning. He should have implied status to stay until he receives a decision on that.

oh and if you do it at the border its free! no 75 dollar fee :)

Jackie23: If you Apply for an extension on his Visa within the next 10 days your Husband will have implied Status until at least the middle of September..even if CIC says no your Husband will be able to see your baby born! :D it takes 62 days to process a Visitors Record..if you don't do this and his status expires he will have 90 days to apply for Restoration of Status and that costs $200 instead of $75..he does need proof of how he will support himself though! As you are on welfare you can not support him!

Pulmosa..I didnt know you can do it at the boarder...for free!!! I like that price!! ;D

NO, NO, NO - don't do that. The extension application only has to be received by CPC-Vegreville prior to the expiration of his current status. Get the application filled out and get it sent to CPC-V by courier so that it's received before his status expires!!!! That will give him implied status to stay in Canada until they make a decision - it'll buy you at least 100 days or so. If he goes to the border, he is leaving the country to do so and they don't have to let him back in! I'll write more in a private message to you but you do have this option to extend by mail - or even to submit the extension application online.

I personally never had to leave the country to extend it in person, but perhaps other people have had an issue? sorry, if I gave bad advice!

How do you get to the Canadian side at a border crossing if you dont leave the country it is fenced off.I cross the border 2 to 3 times a week i have never seen how you can get to the Canadian side without going into the US and they send you through the turn around lane?Just wondering i didnt know it was possible.

if you start going past the Canadian border building there will be a place where you can pull up before you cross the border. Its not well marked at all...it is usually used for people needing exit permits for guns/animal carcass/other things like that)

If you go past the Canadian building you've gone too far!

I've only done it once from the US side (staying on the US side) at the Lewiston/Kingston crossing. Fortunately the border was HEAVILY patrolled that day by armed CAN soldiers examining cars prior to approaching the border. I just rolled down my window and told a soldier I needed to get to the US export office and he directly me to an "Official Vehicles Only" lane and pointed to the building.
