Hey everyone,

Just found out that taking English and French courses as second language does not count towards education requirements for CEC.

I minored in French Studies at university. How do I know if they are counted or not? if they are first or second language courses?

I took second, third and fourth year courses in literature and linguistics.

I'm freaking out because they need my transcripts too!!

Help please! Thanks!

First - before January 2013 - this rule applied to programs that were exclusively (or largely) ESL or FSL programs - in other words, non-academic programs. Your French Studies minor is an academic program, so this rule doesn't apply.

Second - effective January 2, 2013, CEC eligibility criteria have changed, you should go to the website, read the new instruction guide, download, new forms, etc. The 2 streams no longer exist, there is just 1 set of rules, and you qualify on the basis of your work experience. Transcripts are no longer relevant or required.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I will review the updated requirements and forms. I was looking at the forms I printed a few months ago.
