HELP... i feel like a prisoner

i've lived with my aunt for 10 years now. I am a 18 years old international student. My aunt is my guardian while i'm in Canada and she's honestly making my life a living hell, i'm a very social person and i have pretty good grades. In the pass 3 weeks, she has taken my freedom. i'm not allow to go out with friends, she cut the tv service so there is no entertainment, i can't not have friends over for 'hang-out' time ONLY for homework (which her son has to 'supervise' to make sure we do so). My parents are still living, i came here for a better education but didn't know i was trading it for a horrible life. I would like to leave but she said she'll call immergration if she ever find that i'm not home. Can she really do that?

No, you are an Adult in most provinces, as long as you don't overstay your study permit you are fine.

Somehow I have a feeling that she has grounded you for a reason and you are complaining that you find it unfair. What kind of study permit are you on? If you are on a study permit for minor, it's based on her acting as your guardian. If she calls immigration and says she can not take responsibility for you anymore, it is possible that they cancel your permit. Once you have your own study permit, you can move out if you want.

Leon, the kid is 18 and considered an Adult depending on the province, CIC is not a surrogate parent. There is no such thing as a study permit for minors, there are study permits.

PMM, how do you know that this kid/adult/person is living in one of the provinces where an 18 yo. is considered an adult?

Hey guys... sorry i didn't check this post for a long time. But things are just getting worst. I'm leaving to Toronto in about 20 days, but i dunno if i can hold out much longer. I can honestly say, a person can only take so much before they crack, and i'm pretty close to that point. What makes it worst is, she has a son and daughter of her own, and they are treated like royalties. She doesn't speak to me, ignores me when i talk to her. I guess 20 days, is what i have to endure. Sorry if i was a hassle, i just needed someone to listen and hear me out. Thanks
