No, education was completed in 2015 only university awarded degree in 2017 which is usually happened.

So basically if her education was done in 2015 and she got awarded her degree in 2017 it would be 2017 . She was still considered as student until she got her transcripts or degree.

What does cic says about the work experience? What you mean by submitted degree ? Work experience can be considered but the education will be still 2017 as it is actual date you got your degree.

So in other words, I finished my PhD in 2015 ( that’s what I mean by PhD being submitted). And after two years university awarded me my PHD degree certificate. However I started working from 2015 onwards

Correct! So your degree completion date will be 2015, work experience will be 2015 onwards

Actually my thesis was misplaced and it took them 2 years to place it. So they provided me a letter saying that I have submitted it in year 2015 and can look out for a job

But according to degree you were actually awarded in 2017 . Did you evaluated your degree through WES?

Thanks Miss Bee, But the very important question for me still hangs though, that will my Work Experience be counted or considered. That’s why I said it is very confusing and tricky.
As per you, CIC will consider me as a student till the time I am not awarded transcripts or Degree.
However my University told me that I can start looking for jobs way back in 2015.

so million dollar question in my case

is my work ex valid ?

Thanks for all the responses but if you are telling me to write 2015. And tomorrow CIC says your degree says 2017. Would that be considered a misrepresentation. How do you suggest to go about it ?

You already have a letter issued in 2015 which is evidence and you can submit the same. Moreover, you can get additional letter from your university for clarification to avoid any mess in later stages.
