Hello Friends,

I am a permanent resident of Canada. I recently went to India for vacation and got married. I am back in Canada now, and I would like to call my wife here to stay with me. As sponshership program takes 12 months :

- Is it possible that I apply a Visitors visa for her and bring her here, and parallaly I apply for Spousal sponsorship ?
- Would she be eligible to apply for Health card if she is here in Visitors Visa ?
- What is the difference between Visitors visa and Dependent Visa ?

Please clear my confusion. Thanks a lot for yor feedback

- Yes, she can apply for a visitor visa. Unfortunately there is no guarantee it will be approved.
- Most likely she will not qualify for health care as a visitor (depends on your province of residence). You should plan to purchase insurance to cover any emergencies.
- Dependent visa does not apply to her situation. This is only in cases where a spouse is accompanying an international student or foreign worker.

Thank you Scylla for information.

I am staying in Montreal, Quebec.
- Do I need to fill lot of forms and supporting documents if I go ahead with Visitors Visa application ? (It would be very helpful if you provide website link from CIC)
- How much time would it take for the process ? and why do you say that the process is not guaranteed.. is it very complicated !

Thanks again for your help.
