Hello. I became a permanent resident last year through family sponsorship (my husband sponsored me.) I happened to be 8 months pregnant when I landed as a permanent resident. I gave birth in September to our first child.

(I gave birth in the USA because I wouldn’t have gotten OHIP in time for my due date.)

So, now my son and I are US citizens and my husband needs to sponsor our infant son.
We are going to be in Canada during the sponsorship, but both my son and I won’t have OHIP for a while.

Any RECOMMENDATIONS on health COVERAGE/INSURANCE my son and I can use in Canada UNTIL we get OHIP?

Please share your experiences, good and bad.

thank you in advance for your help!

If your husband is a Canadian citizen then presumably your (his) child would be a Canadian citizen by descent, so doesn't need to be sponsored. You would only need a citizenship certificate for the baby.
