Help:Got PPR today. How long will it take to get the passport back from Detroit?

I got ppr today. The notification asked me to send the passport to Detroit within the next 30 days. Since my US visitor visa has expired, I have to choose to send it by mail. I am wondering how long it will take to get my passport back.

Besides submitting it in person, is there any way to get my passport back fast?
I am concerned with it because I need my passport from Sept 21 to Oct 7 due to a travel which schedule is hard to change. I am pretty frustrated right now due to the conflict.

Can you post your time line and your visa office?

Also you can ask them for fast proccessing... or send your passport when you are back

Was your E-Case status "In process" before Passport request? if yes then since when.

Hello echo.young, did you get your passport back the same day with your friend's help in Detroit?
My landing due time is due very soon, Dec 15, however I just got notice to send passport. I am not sure it is ok to ask friend to send since on website they mention "in person".
