I've been in a relationship for almost 2 years and planning to marry my fiance here in Canada, he is from the US. I have children here from a previous marriage and therefore we would like to reside here. Can he come to visit and marry me while here and extend his stay? Does he need a visitor visa to stay and marry me? How soon before he can work? What is the easiest way to make this happen?

1) Yes he can visit and marry you.
2) No, Americans do not get visas.
3) You need to apply to sponsor him for his permanent residence once you are married. The easiest way is to apply outland, and make sure the application is flawlessly complete.

The first thing he needs to do is get his FBI police certificate as it takes 3 months to get.

If you submit a complete application and he has no criminal or other issues, some applicants are getting their confirmation of permanent residence in a month!

CIC is once again accepting FBI certificates from channelers, which can provide the certificate within a few weeks or less.
