HELP! Can I contact CEC re my Application - No Acknowledgement / Email Yet

Hi there - Can someone advise if this is normal: We posted application on 14th of July and it was received (signed for in mail) by the 18th of July. The cost of the application was taken from our credit card on 21st of July but we never received an email or any other form of acknowledgement that our application is in processing stage. Is this normal? If I don't have a file number then can I contact them?

Please help if you can - I would appreciate any response :)

Hi, You can contact them, why not?! send an email to ottawa office, they will respond you in three weeks or so. Although they may not give you any useful information but in their response email you can find a number like E0000XXXXX in the subject or somewhere in the email. This is your file number, which means that they simply forgot to send you an AOR.

What is your status on ECAS?
 
Sorry am fairly new to this forum and am half embarrassed to ask but what is ECAS and any chance you would know the email address of the ottawa office..btw I sent my app to Sydney, N.S.

click on the link with the title : "Client Application Status"

1. press Continue
2. check the box, press continue again.
3. enter your information. In the Identification Type select "Client ID Number" (it is written on your study permit or work permit)

let me know what do you see.
 
It says that they are unable to identify us from the information provided :(
 
Considering that you are entering your info correct, they don't have your file in the system yet.

send an email to OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca and inquire about the status of your application, use the email you provided in your application.
I guess Sydney has sent your file to Ottawa by now.
 
Thanks a million - I just emailed them there now. Btw I just checked my dates and it was June 12 that they received our App - not July. Anyway, thanks for your help - hopefully we will hear something soon.
 
Don't worry.
It looks normal.
May applicants are still waiting for their AOR now.
I just got my AOR today since they received my application on May 22.
It took 4 months.

Keep comfortable mind and wait.
June and July applicants are way better than May applicants.
You will have an email from CIC office.

Sydney office replies quicker than Ottawa office. #justsayin
