Hello, my PR card is going to expire in June, and at first I thought it was fine, but now I realize it's not... Please bear with me while I fill in the details.

May 2005 - Landed and received residency card
Dec 2005 - Left Canada due to a job offer I couldn't refuse
Dec 2005 - Aug 2008 - frequent travels back to Canada, but usually twice a year and each time for about 10 days.
Aug 2008 - Returned to live in Canada. Employed as a contractor for two non-profit organizations - both of which require me to travel extensively as curator (yes, I work in the arts)

And that's the current situation. What I did *not* realize until now is that a) working as contractor does not cover me since it's not technically full-time and b) working for a non-profit does not count either. So that means the days I travelled for work from Aug 2008 til today will count against me. And that's a big problem, since in 09 I was outside for 4+ months (on and off - gone two weeks, back one week, rinse/repeat).

If counting all the days in which I'm here, then I will have around 690 - short of 730 for 5 years. What should I do??? I guess letters from both organizations I work for won't help, since both are contractor/part-time positions?

Thanks for any insight!
