Hello guys.!

Im Swedish citizen.
I would like to know if my cousin (from mom side) could sponsor me?
Can my uncle (moms brother ) sponsor me?
Thanks a lot.

Who can be sponsored

You can sponsor:
•parents
•grandparents
•brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, granddaughters or grandsons who are orphaned, under 18 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship
•another relative of any age or relationship but only under specific conditions (see Note below)
•accompanying relatives of the above (for example, spouse, partner and dependent children).

Note: you can sponsor one relative regardless of age or relationship only if you do not have a living spouse or common-law partner, conjugal partner, a son or daughter, parent, grandparent, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece who could be sponsored as a member of the family class, and you do not have any relative who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or registered as an Indian under the Indian Act.

Thank you very much for the info!
Now Im readu to roll to Canada :P

CharlieD's answer basically said NO, not if your sponsor has other living relatives as listed. If your family members live in Manitoba or Saskatchewan, there may be an opportunity in their Provincial Nominee Programs under the family stream.

Those persons she sponsored would have had to fall within the eligible categories I posted above.

No seriously, do some states allow a person to sponsor a married brother/sister ?

Yes, as I mentioned before, the PROVINCES (we don't have states) of Saskatchewan and Manitoba have Family streams in their nominee programs. Alberta did as well but it's been cancelled.

Thank you very much Charlie & rjessome .
