hello everyone I have a few questions one of them is can I be accessible to enter Canada if I was deported from the United States around 8 years ago (late2010)for a felony. The felony was l A 211. And I ended up serving 20 months in prison and when that term was finished I got deported and they told me I couldn't go back in the next 6 years. i was young and stupid back then hanging out with the wrong crowd and i took everything for granted. i was 17 and i got deported when i was 19. i have matured a lot since then, Now I'm 27 years old I've got a family here in Mexico 2 daughters and I really had a strong wish and desire to immigrate to Canada but to do it all legally with my family because honestly the living conditions here in Mexico are the worst.
My question is can I still qualify to immigrate into Canada after my situation in the United States 8 years ago? And what would I have to do to clean my US record if necessary before applying to go to Canada.

And then another question is that while I was living in the United States when all of this happened I had a different name than I do here in Mexico because it's a long story but...my dad died when i was 3, so when my mom got remarried, her and her new husband changed my name and last name so that i would have her new husbands last name....but they didnt do it right, they forgot or just didnt cancel out the first birth certificate, they just registered me with a new birth certificate... obviously i had to live with that name in the united states since i was 7 years old when we got there. But when I got to Mexico and I settled down and started my family I didn't want my daughters to carry on that last name that wasn't mine so I started a process here in Mexico to change my name and last name to the original one that was on my birth certificate when i was born.
Will all of this effect my intentions to apply and immigrate to canada? since the criminal records in the US are under a diferent name than the one i have now....what can i do to correct all of this and get my life corrected the right way.???
please help me.

The felony charge and conviction is not an issue if it was committed when you were 17 and tried as a juvenile. You have mentioned being incarcerated for 20 months so please check your records and confirm whether you were convicted in a juvenile court or an adult court. I will help you further from there.

The names are not an issue as well. You only have to mention your previous names in your application, that's it.
