Below you can see the letter they sent me, it actually pisses me off, I was waiting and waiting for a hearing and literally a month ago they send a letter and say “maybe we can consider this under file-review”. I mean whats the point of this? Just give me my hearing instead of postponing it.

The hearing scheduled for September 2025, with respect to the above-mentioned claim for refugee protection has been postponed so that the claim may be reviewed under the Refugee Protection Division’s (RPD) file-review process. This means that the claim may be accepted without a hearing.

If the claim is accepted without a hearing, a Notice of Decision indicating that your claim is accepted will be sent to you. If a hearing is necessary, it will be rescheduled at a later date, and a notice to appear containing the new hearing date and location will be provided to you at that time.
This is actually positive news. The RPD has postponed your September 2025 hearing because your claim is now being reviewed under the file-review process. This process is used when the documents and evidence you submitted appear strong enough that the Refugee Protection Division may be able to accept your claim without needing a hearing.

What this means:
Your written evidence is being considered sufficient for a possible approval.
If the RPD decides that the claim can be accepted on the documents alone, you will receive a Notice of Decision confirming your claim is accepted.
If they still need clarification or additional questioning, they will simply reschedule the hearing later and send you a new notice with the date and location.
There is nothing negative in this message. A file review is usually offered when the case looks strong, and many protected persons are accepted this way.
