what can I do for health insurance in Canada while I am waiting for pr? As of today I am off of my families health insurance plan in the states

Until you qualify for provincial health coverage, you will need to pay any regular health expenses out of pocket. You should obtain travel insurance to cover any accidents/emergencies.

My wife is here on a student visa and she has a mandatory health insurance coverage with Desjardins insurance. That's even charged directly on her tuition fees.
You might check on their website.
I think that some other companies offer similar coverage like manulife, sunlife, blue cross.

Yes in realize that and that is fine! So can I go and get CAA travel insurance? Will something like that suffice?
