Hi there, can anyone recommend a company that provides health insurance to new immigrants for their first three months in Canada? Is this difficult to obtain? The insurance is for my mother, who will be landing soon.
What province are you in? It's not difficult at all. In my experience Manulife and Blue Cross are simple and you can get coverage with one-call, might not be the cheapest though.
Does she have insurance from her home country? I'm from the USA and my insurance (aetna) covers my health by 90 percent in Canada. (however I have to pay out of pocket first, then send them the bill and they reimburse me in the usd equivalent)
