Do I need to have an OHIP card to use blue cross? I applied and they turned me down because I didn't have an OHIP card. Perhaps I did something wrong?

I used Bue Cross with my wife when she came to visit for 3 months. Did you tell them that your not resident yet? Because they cannot sell health insurance to Canadian resident( PR and Citizen)
My wife used an insurer from this online broker. https://www.kanetix.ca/travel-visitors-to-canada
It will be a "visitors to Canada" insurance, which is used for residents, visitors or new PRs that don't have provincial coverage yet. We had no problems making a claim.
