I'll be working in a volunteer position, with wild animals, for 3 months.
Is there any health insurance I can buy temporarily?
xx

Talk to your host organization to see if they could assist you with that. Otherwise, contact insurance company for travel health insurance.

Do you have a work permit valid for at least 1 year? If so, you may be eligible for provincial health coverage.

In BC, you can apply after the third month for the MSP :)

In my province you(and your dependants) are eligible on the day you arrive if your work permit is valid for at least 1 year. :)

To SeñoritaBella: Are you in Alberta?

To the OP: As one of the posts mentioned you can get a travel insurance to cover you for the time you won't be covered by government health care.
