Health care support for children in Toronto??

Kindly share some knowledge on getting healthcare support for 1year old children as a new comer before getting health cards or within the time of awaiting to receive the health cards.

If it is not an emergency, then you will have to pay for it. For a basic visit to the doctor, the cost is between 50 and 60 dollars. If it is a medical emergency, you can go to a hospital. The hospital for sick children will not turn you back if it is a medical emergency, but if it is not a medical emergency, you will be charged. Meanwhile, like the other writter, you should get a private insurance if you forsee a medical problem.

You should also get private insurance (travel/emergency/accident) if you don't foresee a medical problem because you never know what will happen and it could be very costly if you have to pay for hospital.
