Having sponsership application going on at the same time of being in the pool?

Hi, I'm wondering if I can have an application through my canadian wife going on while I am in the express entry pool myself?

I am in canada and currently I only have 4 more months of open post graduate work permit left. I need something to be able to stay in case I don't get ITA , something like a bridge work permit. But as I understand I need to have something going on to get bridge?

Any help would be highly appreciated and thanks ,

1. Yes, you can 2 applications in 2 different categories at the same time.
2. Unless you receive an ITA and AOR, you won't get a BOWP
3. You won't get an open work permit unless your spouse is sponsoring you "in-Canada"
