Have you ever used any other name question

I have always answered no to this question since I applied for study permit in 2023. My surname after marriage is in official documents except on my degree certificate which bears my maiden surname. Should I answer this question with a yes now since the certificate is part of what I am submitting?

Answer yes. A maiden name counts as “another name,” even if it’s only on your degree. Just list it and include your marriage certificate so the officer can link both names. It’s better to disclose than risk confusion later.

@olwelnjk Can you please share what happened when you answered this question as Yes after previously applying as No before? Did you add a letter of explanation to explain?
Thing is for my wife too we always answered the question as No in many of the applications since 2021 (both extensions and TRVs) which all were approved. Now when we are applying for a new TRV after her open work permit extension we noticed that the answer should have been Yes all along as her Family Name was different before marriage and the Given name has been same. We have always submitted Marriage Certificate during all the applications before.
Now we are worried if this would be treated as Misrepresentation. What should we do?
