Hello Forum,

Has any body requested for PHYSICAL FILE option of Access to Information (GCMS)? Could you please share your experience?

I am interested in knowing what different information is received in this option, compared to when one requests the ELECTRONIC CASE NOTES?

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers!

As far i know Physical File ordering is not advised to be ordered as it halts the processing of Application , Its always advised to order electronics Notes .

There is no different information is received only difference is it would be a physical file(Hard Copy) posted to your mailing address whereas electronics one would be soft copy .

I hope you understand what is hard and soft copy.

Can't bet but Ordering physical copy delay your application process , so almost all applicant order soft copy only .
Never heard any one for ordering physical copy

Some time physical file has more information in it. I know somebody on this forum, who was waiting for long time for the PR and every time he/she requested the electronics notes he/she does not see much information but then his/her lawyer requested the physical file and they got the concern of VO and was able to rectify the confusion.

However, if your application has passed the recommended time and you can not see any clue from the GCMS note, I would say go ahead and ask for the physical file. You may get some more information.

I will try to provide you the username of the person who requested the physical file.

Thanks....

He was the November 2012 applicant and landed in November 2014. His lawyer had ordered the physical file (visa notes). You can contact him for more information.

;D Nice one dear.

Hello-

I ordered the physical file option 3 times (April, July, Sept).

I applied in Dec 13, AOR in Feb 14, and PPR in Oct 14. It's basically just a scanned copy of all the documents you submit as well as remarks on a page indicating where the criminality, security, medical checks etc are. Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing. That was always an assumption and now it is clear.
